Congratulations for another stellar performance by our Mariners at RENDEZVOUS’ recent Sea Scouts State Competition. They brought back, under the leadership of Boatswain Jackie Wetzel and Boatswain Mates Liz Fletcher and David Cornella, 3 of the top 4 prizes: “Windjammer”, “Schooner” and “Ketch” which required nothing less than respectively 85%, 70% and 60% of all Ship Events!

“Where we go one, we go all. Pass it on.” This is our motto. We teach love of self and all those whose wakes we cross, especially those who are less fortunate. We teach that to lead is to serve. We stress that the knowledge and skills that we acquire are a sacred responsibility to be passed on to others. Your financial support makes this possible.
For over 30 years, our program has enabled young men and women to be actively involved in learning seamanship, developing leadership and acquiring valuable life skills. From initial training as a 13 year old in small boats in Dana Harbor to service as a watch officer on the 118-foot tall ship SPIRIT OF DANA POINT as a high school senior is awesome growth. Your financial support makes this possible.
Community service is an important part of Mariner life. Each year, the seniors and juniors who are Quartermaster candidates organize and supervise the younger Mariners in specialized community service projects. We are proud that sea scouts are involved in both enjoying and contributing to the marine environment as well as the community in which they live. Your financial support makes this possible.
We have approximately 50 adult volunteers who spend time with our youth bringing them the message of character and cooperation that seafaring demands. The emphasis is always on team building and its many rewards. Your support makes this possible.
Fair winds and following seas,
Jim Wehan
President
